Carey, Ph.D., Leonard Rickman, MA, and Karen Clayton, CAE:  Six assignments.  Since AM+MR began work with this association, NBTA’s budget has grown from 2 million to 8 million, with the creation of a new foundation with current commitments for 8 million. Conducted in-depth interviews, focus groups and a quantitative market research needs assessment in the membership and international areas.  Conducted a complete review and analysis for the association examining their international structure with models, findings and recommendations as to how they should structure for the future, and a competitor analysis. Used the new Demographics Overlay™ methodology for survey report preparation. Conducted a detailed governance and strategic planning review for the governing board outlining achievements over the past two years, and areas of concentration for the future.  In a separate study, examined the communication and information management functions of the association, with recommendations and action plans for revising the structure of those functions.  Assisted with executive search in the hiring of new directors for the foundation and the education function. Developed a psychographics segmentation system for the association in June 1997.  Analyzed the membership’s recruitment and retention function in May 1997.  Conducted public relations, communications and a marketing analytical study with end result of repositioning NBTA’s image among industry associations and national media and, revising their marketing and strategic planning strategy to meeting current conditions in September 1996.  Conducted a full day Board Retreat to review and integrate findings into the association’s action plan as well as a full briefing on the findings of the report.  Conducted Board governance training and a practical exercise in board management in September 1998.
